About the role

A well-established motor vehicle workshop based in 4 Mile, Port Moresby is seeking experienced and motivated automotive professionals to join its growing workshop team. We are looking for skilled, reliable and hardworking individuals who have strong practical experience in vehicle servicing, repair and workshop operations.

Key responsibilities

Automotive / Engine Mechanics (4 positions):

• Vehicle servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs
• Engine diagnostics and repairs
• Inspection and troubleshooting of mechanical problems
• Brake, suspension, steering and drivetrain repairs
• Preventive maintenance and general workshop duties
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard

Auto Electricians (2 positions):

• Vehicle electrical diagnostics and repairs
• Troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems
• Installation and repair of wiring, lighting and electrical components
• Battery, starting and charging system diagnostics
• Vehicle computer/electronic system troubleshooting
• General auto electrical workshop duties

Panel Beaters / Auto Denters (3 positions):

• Vehicle body repairs and panel beating
• Dent removal and body restoration
• Panel replacement and alignment
• Accident-damaged vehicle repairs
• Preparing vehicles for painting
• Ensuring high-quality body repair and finishing work

Automotive Painters (2 positions):

• Vehicle preparation for painting
• Surface preparation, sanding and masking
• Colour matching and paint application
• Spray painting and finishing
• Minor body preparation and repairs
• Maintaining a clean and safe painting environment

About you

• Relevant automotive trade qualification or proven practical experience
• Strong hands-on automotive skills
• Previous workshop experience
• Good understanding of vehicle repair and maintenance
• Ability to diagnose problems and work independently
• Good work discipline and attendance
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship
