Engineer Architect for Events Industry

We are looking for an experienced Engineer / Event Architect to join our events and design team. The candidate will be responsible for developing technical and architectural solutions for events, exhibitions, stages, temporary structures, booths, branding installations, and other event environments.

The role requires a combination of technical engineering knowledge, architectural understanding, CAD skills, site coordination, and event-production experience to ensure that designs are practical, safe, visually appealing, and executable within project requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Engineering

• Develop architectural and technical drawings for events, exhibitions, stages, booths, temporary structures, and installations.
• Prepare detailed 2D drawings, layouts, elevations, sections, and construction details.
• Review event concepts and convert them into practical technical designs.
• Prepare structural and technical solutions for temporary event structures.
• Coordinate with the design, production, AV, and project management teams.
• Ensure designs are suitable for fabrication, installation, dismantling, and transportation.
• Review dimensions, materials, loads, access requirements, and site conditions.

CAD & Technical Documentation

• Prepare and modify drawings using AutoCAD and/or other relevant CAD software.
• Develop technical drawings based on approved concepts and 3D designs.
• Prepare shop drawings and fabrication drawings for production teams and suppliers.
• Maintain accurate drawing revisions and technical documentation.
• Prepare BOQ-related technical information when required.
• Review supplier and subcontractor drawings for compliance with project requirements.

Site & Event Coordination

• Conduct site visits and surveys to verify dimensions and existing conditions.
• Coordinate with venues, contractors, suppliers, fabricators, and event teams.
• Attend site meetings and provide technical clarification when required.
• Monitor installation activities and ensure work follows approved drawings.
• Identify technical issues on-site and provide practical solutions.
• Coordinate dismantling requirements and ensure structures are safely removed after events.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure designs and installations comply with applicable UAE safety requirements, venue regulations, and project specifications.
• Consider structural stability, fire safety, emergency access, evacuation routes, rigging requirements, and public safety.
• Prepare or support technical documentation, risk assessments, method statements, and related submissions when required.
• Coordinate with structural consultants or specialist engineers where professional certification is required.

Project Support

• Work closely with the Sales, Design, Production, and Project Management teams from concept through execution.
• Support the estimation team with technical input and material requirements.
• Review project requirements and identify potential technical challenges before production.
• Assist in developing cost-effective technical solutions without compromising safety or quality.
• Ensure projects are delivered according to approved designs, timelines, and specifications.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in events, exhibitions, interior fit-out, temporary structures, or related industries.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD is required.
• Knowledge of SketchUp, 3ds Max, Revit, Rhino, or similar software is an advantage.
• Good understanding of construction methods, fabrication, materials, and temporary structures.
• Experience working with event contractors, fabricators, venues, and suppliers is preferred.
• UAE experience is highly desirable.
