Engineer Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a hands-on Engineer Assistant to support engineering testing, product validation and daily laboratory operations. You will work closely with engineers to operate and maintain test equipment, execute manual and automated tests, troubleshoot technical issues and ensure laboratory equipment remains ready for use.

Key responsibilities

• Perform engineering tests according to approved procedures and technical requirements.
• Set up, operate and maintain test stands, test benches, laboratory equipment and testing tools.
• Support daily engineering laboratory operations and equipment availability.
• Execute automated tests using relevant tools, scripts and test systems.
• Assist engineers with product verification, validation and other engineering activities.
• Troubleshoot test equipment, test environments and basic system-related issues.
• Maintain accurate test results, technical records and laboratory documentation.
• Coordinate equipment calibration, servicing and preventive maintenance.
• Use SAP for engineering, equipment, material and test-related processes.
• Support basic PLC and industrial automation activities.

About you

• Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation, Computer, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in engineering testing, laboratory operations, validation or engineering support is preferred.
• Hands-on experience or working knowledge of SAP, test automation and Python.
• Familiarity with test stands, test benches, laboratory equipment or instrumentation.
• Basic knowledge of PLC systems and industrial automation.
• Comfortable performing hands-on testing, troubleshooting and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of IP networking and Windows/Linux server administration is an advantage.
• Good analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to work independently and collaborate effectively within an engineering team.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
