Engineer / Assistant Engineer (Marine)

Responsibilities:

• Plan and manage routine inspections and daily/monthly maintenance work plans for vessels and piers
• Oversee annual vessel docking (Engine Section); negotiate and coordinate on-site with shipyards in Hong Kong and China
• Liaise with Superintendent, Engineer II, Procurement and other stakeholders to plan and monitor surveys, docking and maintenance; collaborate with technicians and engineers to resolve technical issues and enforce maintenance standards
• Identify and coordinate procurement of dry-docking and critical spare parts; ensure timely delivery and maintain Pier/Vessel Stores inventory
• Provide on-site emergency technical support for machine-related incidents; lead troubleshooting and immediate remedial actions
• Ensure compliance with Maritime Department requirements and maintain relationships with surveyors and external inspectors
• Provide technical coaching and hands‑on training to Engine Department staff; develop successors to address skills gaps and ensure effective vessel/pier repair and maintenance
• Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Higher Diploma in Marine Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in the maritime industry, with experience in dry docking and overhauling being an advantage
• Certificate of Competency (Marine Engineer Officer) Class 3 or above;
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and familiar with engineering software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
• Proficiency in English and Chinese, including Mandarinl
• Position requires work primarily at the Tsing Yi office, in the dockyard during docking, and on our vessels
• Training will be conducted at the shipyard and pier
