Engineer Basic Software BMS

Role & responsibilities

Position Summary

Develop, configure, integrate and validate BMS Basic Software components and the AUTOSAR stack for lithium-ion battery packs, covering diagnostics, communication, memory and integration activities. The role reports to the Lead Basic Software (BMS).

Total experience framing: embedded software development, with a portion in AUTOSAR Basic Software, BMS, VCU, EV powertrain or automotive embedded software.

3. Must Have Skills

• Embedded C programming
• AUTOSAR Classic Platform Basic Software configuration (COM, CANIF, CANTP, PDUR, DCM, DEM, NVM, OS)
• CAN/CAN FD communication
• UDS diagnostics (ISO 14229)
• Vector CANoe/CANalyzer

4. Good To Have Skills

• DaVinci Configurator, EB Tresos or equivalent
• Software integration, debugging and validation techniques
• Git, Bitbucket or SVN
• JIRA, Polarion or DOORS
• ASPICE processes (SWE.1 to SWE.6)
• Lithium-ion battery and BMS architecture knowledge
• Functional Safety awareness (ISO 26262)
• Cybersecurity awareness (ISO 21434)
• NXP, Infineon or Renesas microcontroller platforms
• Automotive Ethernet and DoIP
• Static code analysis (QAC, Polyspace, Coverity)

5. Roles and Responsibilities

• Configure, integrate and maintain AUTOSAR Basic Software modules including OS, COM, CAN, CANIF, CANTP, PDUR, DCM, DEM, NVM, FEE, EA and RTE.
• Develop and configure diagnostics: UDS services, DTC management, event handling, fault memory and diagnostic communication.
• Support communication stack integration, memory stack configuration and runtime environment setup.
• Participate in software build, configuration management and release activities.
• Test diagnostics and communication using Vector CANoe, CANalyzer and related tools; maintain diagnostic descriptions and DTC configurations.
• Analyze system, software, diagnostic and safety requirements; create design, configuration and integration documentation with full traceability.
• Perform unit, integration, SIL and HIL testing; debug, analyze defects and find root causes.
• Follow ASPICE-compliant processes; participate in design and code reviews, audits, static code analysis and defect management.
