What they need

In ESVAGT, safety is a fundamental part of everyday operations – Do it safely or not at all. As an offshore employee,

you will work in a professional environment with clear procedures and a strong focus on safety, collaboration, and quality.

The Position

We are seeking a First Engineer to join our offshore fleet.

As First Engineer, you will play a key role in the engine room team. In close cooperation with the Chief Engineer, Second Engineer, or Junior Engineer, you will be responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the vessel’s technical systems.

The position offers a high level of responsibility and influence, as well as excellent opportunities for both professional and personal development.

At ESVAGT, we value knowledge sharing and encourage both new ideas and professional dialogue. You will be part of a highly skilled Danish engine crew, where all engineers contribute across disciplines, as there are no dedicated electricians or motormen onboard.

Your primary tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Operation, monitoring, and maintenance of engine room systems and equipment

  • Participation in safety drills and emergency preparedness activities
  • Ensuring compliance with ESVAGT’s safety standards and procedures
  • Collaboration with onboard crew and technical department ashore

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate a strong focus on safety and a proactive safety mindset
  • Are able to communicate clearly in both Danish and English
  • Thrive in a collaborative team environment and bring curiosity to your work
  • Have the ambition and potential to advance to Chief Engineer over time, when you are ready and have shown that you can fulfil the role

Certificates:

  • Valid Certificate of Competency as minimum III/2 Marine Engineer First Class and III/6 ETO
  • Valid STCW certificates, medical certificate and EU passport

Working in ESVAGT

At ESVAGT, you will be part of a permanent team of three engineers who share and coordinate tasks between them as a team, while taking independent responsibility for driving the vessel’s maintenance. The position follows a fixed 4-week rotation scheme, where two employees share the position to ensure continuity and a predictable work-life balance. You will be part of a permanent crew with good onboard facilities, including your own cabin, social activities, fitness facilities, and internet access via STARLINK.
