About the role

We are seeking an Engineer to join our team in the Pioneer West Region on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the Specialty Gas Projects of NIPPON SANSO SINGAPORE LTD. As an Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and optimisation of our industrial gas systems and processes. This position is fundamental to ensuring our operations run efficiently whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. You will work both on-site and in office environments, providing technical expertise that directly supports our business objectives and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimise chemical engineering processes and systems in line with operational requirements and industry standards
• Conduct technical assessments and feasibility studies for new projects and process improvements
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
• Monitor and analyse process performance, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reduction
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, and quality assurance to resolve technical challenges
• Conduct equipment inspections and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and reliability
• Maintain accurate technical records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Support the commissioning and start-up of new equipment and systems
• Provide support for counter parts in ASEAN Countries

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in chemical engineering or a related field
• Strong understanding of industrial gas production, handling, and application processes
• Proficiency in process design software and engineering tools such as AutoCAD, ASPEN, or similar applications
• Solid knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory standards within the chemical and industrial gases sector
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex technical issues
• Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues, clients, and external partners
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Professional engineering certification or membership (such as PEC registration) is advantageous
• Experience with project management or process optimisation projects is preferred
