Purpose & Role of the Position

Purpose-. To ensure the seamless, efficient, and cost-effective operation of production processes. This role focuses on maintaining high product quality, optimizing resource use, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Additionally, the/she drives continuous improvement initiatives, aligns production activities with the company's strategic objectives, and fosters a culture of innovation and excellence within the production team.

Roles & Responsibilities.

• Planning and Scheduling:

• Develop and oversee production schedules to meet company goals and customer demands.

• Coordinate with other departments such as procurement, quality control, and logistics to ensure smooth operations.

• Supervision and Leadership:

• Lead and manage the production team, including supervisors, technicians, and operators.

• Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to enhance their skills and performance.

• Performance Monitoring:

• Monitor production metrics such as output, efficiency, and quality.

• Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

• Quality Assurance:

• Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure products meet specified standards.

• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address and resolve any quality issues.

• Resource Management:

• Manage and allocate resources effectively to meet production targets.

• Oversee the maintenance and optimization of production equipment and machinery.

• Health and Safety:

• Ensure that health and safety protocols are strictly followed in the production area.

• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.

• Budgeting and Cost Control:

• Prepare and manage the production budget.

• Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.

• Continuous Improvement:

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.

• Encourage a culture of innovation and process optimization among the production team.

• Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:

• Quickly address and resolve any production-related issues or disruptions.

• Make informed decisions to maintain production efficiency and quality.

• Reporting and Documentation:

• Maintain accurate records of production activities, performance metrics, and compliance documentation.

• Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on production performance and initiatives.

• Stakeholder Communication:

• Liaise with other departments, suppliers, and customers to ensure effective communication and coordination.

• Represent the production department in meetings and strategic discussions.

Educational Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
