Engineer

Pendennis Shipyard is recruiting engineers to join our expanding team in Falmouth, supporting yacht refits and the construction of new vessels.

You will carry out mechanical fitting, equipment installation and pipework removal and replacement across a range of vessel systems. You will have practical engineering experience, good systems knowledge and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Essential skills and experience

• Experience installing, removing and replacing equipment, valves and pipework.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical, hands-on skills.
• Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable skills and experience

• Fabrication and installation of stainless steel and carbon steel pipework.
• Manufacture of brackets and framework in stainless steel, aluminium and carbon steel.
• Knowledge of yacht systems or experience in a similar industry.
• Manufacture and installation of small-bore pipework and hoses.
• Slinging, rigging and heavy lifting using mechanical aids.
• TIG welding, gas cutting and marking out.
• Mapress pipework installation.
• Alignment of drive systems.

Pay: £16.00-£17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 39.0 per week
