Engineer

About the role

Engineer role in the Technical & Development department, reporting to Project Management Manager. The position involves handling OEMs product development projects through the APQP process, managing tooling/part/product development, and ensuring projects progress from development through mass production.

Key responsibilities

• Handle OEMs product development projects through APQP process
• Understand customer requirements and interact with stakeholders (customer, internal & suppliers) to meet project objective within timeline
• Lead and monitor tooling/part/product development, also planned for prototype sample for design/process verification or validation
• Interact with customer on technical requirements, check and review on receive or release of any technical documents
• Ensure projects mass production on time and monitor production status until handover to plant
• Handle projects documentation and prepare for customer and ISO audit
• Take lead in part/product improvement activity
• Handle procurement, vendor sourcing and vendor development activities
• Performing other related duties as per assignment by management from time to time

About you

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• At least 1 year experience in related field
• Experience in project management
• Demonstrate good leadership skills with great discipline and attitude working
• Knowledge in APQP e.g. Control Plan, PFMEA, SPC
• Knowledge in Lead production system
• Working knowledge of MS Office
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication abilities
• Able to read CAD drawing
• Working knowledge of CAD software like Autocad, Solidwork, Catia
• Knowledge in IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14000 or VDA 6.4 will be a highly advantageous asset
• Able to communicate in Bahasa Malaysia & English
