Job Description – Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer

Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering
Industry Preference: Fertilizer, Cattle Feed, Chemical, or Food Processing

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer to manage the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems at our fertilizer and cattle feed manufacturing facilities. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical and control systems in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute electrical and instrumentation activities for new installations, plant upgrades, and routine maintenance.
• Review and interpret technical drawings, including P&IDs, loop diagrams, and single-line diagrams.
• Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical panels, field instruments, and control systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to motors, VFDs, sensors, control valves, and PLC/DCS systems.
• Perform calibration and maintenance of process instruments, including pressure, temperature, level, and flow transmitters.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, applicable electrical codes, and hazardous area classification requirements.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure timely execution of projects and maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, including instrument data sheets, calibration reports, and wiring diagrams.
• Support automation and control system integration to improve process optimization and operational efficiency.
• Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives related to electrical and instrumentation systems.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, and industrial automation.
• Hands-on experience in troubleshooting electrical equipment and process control systems.
• Familiarity with PLC, SCADA, DCS, VFDs, and industrial control systems.
• Knowledge of instrument calibration, loop checking, and commissioning procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and wiring diagrams.
• Strong problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.
• Understanding of electrical safety practices and industrial maintenance standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering.
• 10–12 years of relevant experience in process industries.
• Experience in fertilizer, cattle feed, chemical, or food processing plants will be preferred.
• PLC/SCADA training, electrical safety certifications, and instrument calibration training will be an added advantage.
