Engineer Electrical (LSS Project Site - Sungai Siput)

Key Responsibilities

• Design and review electrical systems for utility-scale solar PV projects, including DC and AC systems.
• Prepare and review single-line diagrams (SLD), electrical layouts, cable schedules, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate the installation and commissioning of PV modules, string inverters, central inverters, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, and substations.
• Monitor construction progress and ensure electrical works comply with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Perform testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of solar PV systems and electrical equipment.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, utility companies, contractors, and suppliers throughout project execution.
• Ensure compliance with local electrical regulations, utility interconnection requirements, and industry standards.
• Support grid connection activities, energization, and utility witness testing.
• Prepare technical reports, inspection records, commissioning documentation, and as-built drawings.
• Identify engineering issues and implement effective technical solutions to minimize project risks and delays.
• Support project planning, scheduling, cost control, and technical evaluations.
• Promote and maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in utility-scale solar PV, renewable energy, power generation, or substation projects.
• Experience with Large Scale Solar (LSS) projects is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, MV/LV distribution, substations, transformers, protection systems, and grid interconnection.
• Familiarity with IEC standards and local utility requirements.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. Experience with ETAP, PVSyst, DIgSILENT, or equivalent engineering software is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documents.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Willing to travel and work at project sites as required.
