Our team works across modern and legacy environments, building containerized Java services, APIs, event driven integrations, and data processes. This role is a strong fit for an engineer with strong database and SQL skills who enjoys solving complex production problems and wants to help move critical capabilities toward microservices, containers, events, and cloud-based solutions.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Estimated Salary (Levels have variable responsibilities and qualifications)
      • Engineer I: $110,00 - $120,000, plus annual bonus opportunity
      • Engineer II: $130,000 - $149,000, plus annual bonus opportunity
  • 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match.

  • Applicants for this position must not now, nor at any point in the future, require sponsorship for employment

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

In this role, you will build and support software solutions for Claims processing and our data warehouse. You will work across application, integration, database, and data processing layers while contributing to the modernization of legacy systems. You will also participate in production operations, incident response, and continuous improvement.

  • Develop and maintain containerized Java and Spring Boot applications.
  • Build and support APIs that connect Claims applications, enterprise platforms, and external systems.
  • Build and support event driven integrations using Kafka and other messaging patterns.
  • Create and maintain SQL, ETL, and data processing solutions that support analytical and data warehouse use cases.
  • Apply modern engineering practices including automated testing, source control, code review, CI/CD, deployment automation, and other DevOps practices.
  • Own production outcomes. Monitor and support production applications and data processes, troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Modernize legacy capabilities by reducing technical debt and moving key functionality toward modern architectures.
  • Collaborate and innovate. Work with engineers, analysts, product owners, architects, and business partners to translate needs into reliable technical solutions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including technical designs, API specifications, data mappings, and operational documentation.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Strong database and SQL skills, including relational data structures, query development, data integrity, and performance considerations.
  • Experience developing Java applications using Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
  • Experience building, deploying, or supporting containerized applications.
  • Experience maintaining or modernizing legacy systems while preserving production reliability.
  • Understanding of APIs, integration patterns, event driven architecture, and message processing.
  • Experience with automated testing and disciplined software development lifecycle practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot across application, integration, database, and infrastructure layers.
  • Clear communication and a collaborative approach to working with technical and non-technical partners.
  • Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership and accountability for their work.
  • Curiosity and adaptability when working with unfamiliar systems, technologies, data, and business processes.
  • You promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
  • Ability to work remotely with reliable high-speed internet access while residing in the United States or Puerto Rico.

PREFERRED:

  • Experience with AWS services and cloud-based solutions.
  • Experience with Kafka, MuleSoft, enterprise ETL, analytical data, or data warehouse solutions.
  • Understanding of data quality, reconciliation, lineage, monitoring, and downstream dependencies.
  • Experience supporting claims, insurance, financial services, or other highly regulated business processes.
  • Experience with production observability, logging, alerting, incident response, and root cause analysis.

This role is classified as remote; however, periodic in-person attendance will be required at times for activities such as quarterly or project planning, training, or other business-critical meetings.
