Engineer III-Process & Environment Safety

Role Definition Roles at this level are leads for a small-sized team, Equipment responsible engineers, leading small areas or leading a project with low complexities.

They communicate seamlessly with global entities, suppliers, sub-contractors and within the project teams.

This role typically is of "execution" with minimum supervision within the area of work executed as a team member.

Technical Subject Knowledge

• Work in a group of Process and Safety engineers to ensure that all process safety engineering tasks are performed within scheduled time, budget and quality for medium and large-size projects
• Knowledge of National and International Codes and Standards relevant to Process & Environmental safety applicable to design, construction and operation of process plant.
• Good in-depth knowledge on following Process Safety activities:
• Determination of mechanical design conditions and safeguarding of piping and equipment
• PSV relief load calculation, size selection and datasheet preparation and procurement
• Flare load summary preparation, flare header / flare network designing and flare KOD sizing
• SIL study and shut down system design acc. IEC61511
• Preparation of Emergency Isolation and Depressurization system concept and report
• Explosion Protection system (Hazardous Area Classification concept, schedule and drawings)
• Management & participation of HAZOP / HAZID / HAZAN reviews
• Participate in P&ID review and technical understanding of safety and risk engineering aspects in layout studies
• Should possess Project execution experience in one or more of product lines: Hydrogen, Ethylene Cracker, Polypropylene, Polyethylene, SRU, Ammonia
• Technical support to multiple projects / proposals.

Management of a project at disciplinary level of low to medium complexity and small size project / proposal under close guidance.

Responsible for specific task / area as EQR or Area Lead for management of all activities related to his task / area in the project.

Creation of adapted solutions based on existing solutions.

Prepare quality deliverable within budget, schedule and take full responsibility for the own task and check the deliverables created by others.

Contact person with sound knowledge for specific activity / for computational methods within his area.

Internal and external co-ordination with other disciplines and vendors / contractors.

Leading competency

Leading a small to mid sized team of engineers / designers.

Internal and external co-ordination with other disciplines, global suppliers, clients / PMC.

Representation of the interest of the department to internal stake holders.
