This role will involve working on a variety of land development and civil/site design projects, including commercial and residential development, paving and drainage, water and sanitary utilities, roadway design, traffic control plans, and other civil infrastructure improvements.

Applicant does not have to be physically located in Central Texas, but it is preferred. Central Texas-area applicants are preferred due to occasional site visits, project/client meetings, networking opportunities, and company events.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Assist Project Managers with civil design using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, storm drainage programs, and other engineering software.
  • Revise plans and designs based on internal markups, project changes, and agency review comments, including preparation of comment response letters and resubmittal packages.
  • Assist with permitting, platting, engineering exhibits, calculations, and other documentation required for project approvals.
  • Coordinate with architects, surveyors, MEP consultants, landscape architects, contractors, reviewing agencies, and other project team members.
  • Attend client/project meetings and assist with meeting notes and follow-up items.
  • Perform occasional site visits/field observations and document existing or construction conditions.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of professional experience with a civil engineering design/consulting firm.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Current Texas Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, with the goal of obtaining Texas PE licensure.
  • Strong willingness to learn, be coached, ask questions, and develop additional technical skills and processes.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with a strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client and internal deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, shift priorities throughout the day, and stay organized across multiple projects.
  • Ability to work independently, communicate proactively, and manage workload with limited supervision in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications (but not required)

  • Central Texas-area residence and/or professional experience
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and hydrologic/hydraulic analysis
  • Experience with land development, site design, drainage, utility, or roadway design
  • Familiarity with Central Texas permitting agencies and local design criteria

Schedule Expectations: Full Time

  • Full-time, Monday–Friday
  • 100% remote position
  • Ability to work independently, stay responsive during normal business hours, and effectively manage workload and deadlines from a remote environment
  • Austin/Central Texas-area applicants preferred due to occasional site visits, project meetings, and company events
