Engineer (Maintenance & Service)

About the role

We are looking for an Engineer to join our Maintenance & Service team and support GIS and high-voltage equipment works for Malaysia market. The role focuses on technical analysis, developing engineering solutions, resolving technical issues and coordinating site activities. You will also work closely with customers, OEMs and internal engineering teams to support smooth service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for GIS and switchgear commissioning, maintenance and upgrade works across various voltage levels.
• Review and develop technical solutions, work methodologies and engineering approaches for site activities and project execution.
• Support on-site commissioning and testing, review test results and resolve technical issues.
• Conduct root cause investigations for equipment faults and propose corrective and preventive measures.
• Prepare, review and maintain method statements, service reports, test records and technical submissions.
• Coordinate with internal service and project teams to plan, schedule and execute site works.
• Liaise with equipment manufacturers, suppliers and OEMs to clarify technical specifications, resolve technical queries and support spare parts planning.
• Communicate with customers and end-users to understand technical requirements and provide engineering recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or a related Engineering discipline
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in GIS, switchgear or high-voltage equipment engineering
• Knowledge of GIS primary and secondary systems
• Able to interpret technical drawings, schematics and engineering documents
• Strong analytical, coordination and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills
• Comfortable working in a site-based environment
• Willing to respond to urgent site issues or after-hours requirements when needed
• Willingness to travel when required
