About the role

This is a maintenance engineering position focused on conducting routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment in an industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment to identify potential issues before they become critical
• Diagnose equipment failures and malfunctions using diagnostic tools and technical knowledge, implementing effective corrective actions
• Perform troubleshooting and repairs on industrial machinery, pumps, motors, compressors, and associated systems
• Execute planned maintenance activities according to established schedules and maintenance protocols
• Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance data in maintenance management systems
• Collaborate with operations teams to minimise production downtime and ensure safe equipment operation
• Maintain accurate spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement of required components
• Conduct root cause analysis on recurring equipment failures and recommend improvements or upgrades
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations during maintenance operations
• Participate in training and professional development to stay current with maintenance best practices and emerging technologies

About you

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in maintenance engineering or a similar technical role
• Strong proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment
• Knowledge of predictive and preventative maintenance methodologies
• Competency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals
• Proficiency with maintenance management software and data recording systems
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Valid certification in relevant areas such as electrical safety, machinery operation, or similar qualifications
• Physical capability to perform manual tasks and work in industrial environments
