Engineer - Maintenance

Purpose:

We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to manage shift-wise maintenance of utilities and lithium-ion battery process equipment. The role involves supervising shift technicians, attending breakdowns, executing preventive maintenance, and ensuring high equipment uptime in a battery manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Shift-wise maintenance of LIB process & assembly equipment (mixing, coating, calendaring, slitting, winding, formation, aging, vacuum ovens, etc.)

2. Operation & maintenance of utilities: HT/LT electrical systems, DG sets, UPS, compressors, HVAC/chillers, vacuum systems, N/gas lines, RO/DI/ETP/STP

3. Fire protection & safety systems

4. Lead and coordinate shift technicians to ensure proper shift handover.

5.Attend breakdowns and perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic & basic PLC troubleshooting.

6.Execute preventive maintenance and update CMMS/SAP.

7.Ensure compliance with EHS, LOTO, 5S, ISO/IATF/GMP requirements.

8.Coordinate with OEMs for critical equipment issues

9.Train and guide technicians on troubleshooting and SOP adherence.

Preferred candidate profile

• BE / B.Tech Mechanical / Electrical / E&I
• 1-5 years of experience in relevant roles within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the battery or energy storage industry.
• Proficiency in installation of new equipment, troubleshooting of equipments, with a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical principles and machinery operation and PLC operation.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to systematically diagnose complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts as needed to support maintenance activities and respond to emergencies.
• Able to work in low humidity conditioned rooms.
