Engineer Manufacturing (Tool & Die)

Job Summary

Demonstrates in depth conceptual and practical knowledge in maintenance tools, die for forming process, welding fixtures, automatic systems, and attachments used in Fabrications manufacturing process. Is responsible for locating and evaluating the capabilities of equipment and machine in manufacturing process. Provides technical support and solves complex problems in analysis of manufacturing systems. Works collaboratively with Manufacturing Engineer to yield innovative products and processes. Implementation and is responsible for supporting and delivering the Life Cycle Plan from concept to production at our various manufacturing plants.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the overall maintenance of all Tooling and die, Equipment, and Utilities in area.

• Have hands on approach in coordinating the activities of Plant Engineering and Plant maintenance.

• Design/Install/modify/improve equipment, tooling and die, welding fixture for new model launches, continues improvements and maintenance by liaising with Production, Product Development and Maintenance to ensure that all key targets and milestones are achieved.

• Ensures that the Tooling, fixture, and equipment performs the functions as to manufacture specification in a reliable, safe manner that meets all company requirements and or standard requirement.

• Establish and maintain plant and equipment to manufactures specifications and maintenance standards.

• Provide technical expertise in complex problem solving for manufacturing process.

• Be active in cross functional improvement teams and ensure assigned tasks are taken to completion.

• Develop/improve/ support new product finishes as required.

• Follow up die preventive maintenance (Die PM ), Management tooling, insert, cutter and spare parts control of Tooling and Die and coordinate with supplier.

• Participate in all Continuous Improvement System (CIS) related activities.

• Take care of tooling process to ensure the business objectives are met, to maximize productivity and maintain the highest levels of workmanship for all tooling activities.

• Ability to apply knowledge of best practices with suppliers to develop best practice assembly methods and procedures and how their own area integrates with others to drive results.

• Implements JIT and Lean Manufacturing principles (5s, Six Sigma, CI system, etc.)

• Performs supplier technical assessments and implements supplier technical development plans.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tooling Engineering, Material Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field Required.

Experience Requirements

Required

• minimum of 2-5 years of direct experience in Tooling Maintenance, Equipment, Machining, Building, infrastructure, main utility, IT infrastructure.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within and / or lead a group or team providing guidance and training to other Production and Operation teams in the maintenances of new tools and in the resolution of tooling/die and fixture problems.

Preferred

• Good working knowledge of perishable tools and die, jigs, fixtures, electrical, PLC, automatic systems, and machining processes.
• Documentation management, Computer Aided Design and Personal Computer skills.
• Preventive maintenance Tooling and Die, Fixture, Equipment, Hydraulic Press Machine, PLC.
• Preventive maintenance planning system and Management tooling, insert, cutter space parts.
• GD&T and Automotive Drawing knowledge.
• Just-In-Time principles and Set-Up reduction.
• Kaizen, Lean systems, Six sigma, apply and utilize to improve production quality.
• Practical applications of ergonomics.
• ISO 9000 standards APQP AITF standard .
• Good command of English both spoken and written.
• Strong communication skill can work under pressure.
