Engineer - Mechanical

Analytical Sales and Services, Inc., is looking to add to it’s fast-growing Engineering Department. The company is seeking a qualified individual to fill the following position:

Mechanical Engineer

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Previous mechanical engineering work experience
• Possess creativity to develop new designs/solutions to challenging engineering problems
• Ability to work within preset, tight parameters
• Good understanding of mechanical parts, components, and dimensioning, with solid foundation in hands-on mechanical R&D, prototyping, and testing
• Needs to be familiar with GD&T, and able to read and understand engineering drawings and dimensions
• Ability to use CAD software (Autodesk Inventor a big plus) for mechanical design to make sketches, create parts, assemblies, and dimensioned drawings
• A degree of knowledge of semi-complex product assembly
• Solid understanding of fabrication techniques/equipment (mill, lathe, CNC, 3D printer, laser cutter, etc.) Hands on experience with this equipment is a plus
• Have the capacity to use tools, as well as ability to use calipers, micrometer, optical comparator, etc.
• Above average degree of mathematical ability
• Personable; communicates comfortably with colleagues, outside vendors/suppliers, as well as customers
• Possesses a good “team player” attitude, i.e. good track record of contributing to team effort by accomplishing tasks as/when needed
• Ideal candidate will be interviewed by multiple members of the Analytical team

Additional consideration will be given to candidates with the following:

• Some CNC experience is a plus (Datron, Haas, Okuma, Mazak, 5-axis, etc.)
• Any electrical R&D experience, with a good understanding of electrical parts, components, electrical design, etc.
