Engineer-Mechanical Design

What you ll do:

Basic Function

Drive cost-out, resiliency, and sourcing optimization initiatives across the global Non-Ferrous Metals portfolio (Copper, Aluminum, Bus Bars, Fabricated Components, Coil Products, Electrical Contacts, and related commodities). The role will partner with Category Management, Engineering, Sourcing, Suppliers, and Manufacturing Sites to identify, develop, and execute cost reduction opportunities while ensuring supply continuity and portfolio resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, prioritize, and execute cost-out projects across the NFM portfolio.
• Develop savings pipelines through resourcing, negotiations, should-cost analysis, and VAVE initiatives.
• Support supplier benchmarking and commercial competitiveness assessments.
• Lead dual sourcing and alternate supplier qualification activities.
• Drive SPIR mitigation and supply continuity projects
• Analyze spend concentration, supplier dependency, and sourcing opportunities.
• Engage with global Category Managers, Sourcing, Engineering, Plants, and Suppliers.
• Facilitate VAVE workshops with suppliers and manufacturing plants.
• Identify material, process, and design optimization opportunities.
• Recommend alternative materials, manufacturing methods, and supplier solutions.
• Manage multiple global projects simultaneously.

Qualifications:

Education

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.

Experience 2-5 years of experience in:

• Cost Reduction / Cost Engineering
• Commodity Management
• Manufacturing Engineering
• Supply Chain Engineering
• Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE)
• Strategic Sourcing
