About the role

The position manages all activities for the planning, organizing and coordinating the complex raw materials (Ethylene, Propylene, Raw Pyrolysis Gasoline, Mixed C4 & C4 Raffinate-1) and production of all plants located at both Pasir Gudang & Tanjung Langsat.

Responsible for the overall Complex Production Coordination in monitoring and analyzing plants activities & performance.

Review & manage Complex Utilities & Chemical Treatment contract to align with company’s set goals & objectives.

Responsibilities:

• To adhere and enforce safety rules and procedures by adopting established safety code and practices and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate, monitor and manage complex feedstock (Ethylene, Propylene, Raw Pyrolysis Gasoline, Mixed C4 & C4 Raffinate-1) inventory to ensure continuity of supply including when there is any plant upset or shutdown activity and to avoid tank top/bottom issue.
• Perform daily complex material balance by using Data Reconciliation Software with the inputs from Plant Information System (PIS).
• Perform month end closing for production volume of all plants, the consumption of raw materials, utility etc. with the support from the respective operation teams.
• Prepare and compile annual production budget:
• For monomer plants, estimate and compile production volumes and consumptions (such as raw materials, utilities, and chemicals).
• For polymer plants, compile and review production volumes and consumptions (such as raw materials, utilities, chemicals, and catalysts), which are prepared by the respective Polymer Operation teams.
• Perform direct and indirect losses management, including flaring loss when there is shutdown or upset at NC plants.
• Coordinate, reviews and monitor Complex Critical Issues Management.
• Review and renew contracts for complex utilities (Water, Natural Gas, Nitrogen and Hydrogen) to maintain stable supply without any delay that will affect the operation of plants. In the event of any utilities interruption, the team is responsible for receiving first hand notice from supplier and disseminating immediately to the respective teams to devise any mitigation plan or solution.
• Prepare Invitation to Bid (ITB) with the respective Operation team’s (end users) support. Conduct commercial evaluation and renew contracts for chemical treatments within the complex, the team has to secure stable and long-term services from reliable vendors to ensure smooth operation of plants. In addition, the team is to monitor chemical consumption with reconciliation activity over a period (Quarterly / Annually).
• Coordinate plant risk management activities, such as annual Insurance Risk Engineering Survey.
• Support in the bank renewal for PG, TL & Terminal 2 contracts with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and complex natural gas contract with Petronas Energy and Gas Trading (PEGT).

To be successful in this role:

• Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering or any related field.
• Preferably 2 years of experience in the process engineering in petrochemicals industry or any related field. Fresh gradates with excellent academic results are also encouraged to apply.
• Able to go extra miles, good work ethics, respect diverse culture & a good team player
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in PC, particularly in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.
• Able to communicate and coordinate activities involving multi-departments.
