Engineer - Project Planner

Mission Statement

To plans, coordinates, and drives project execution by aligning schedules, resources, documents, and information across the Internal Team. The role monitors progress and risks, follows up with stakeholders, and drives timely action and accountability so that project teams meet agreed milestones and complete projects efficiently.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Project Schedule and Milestone Management

• Develop and maintain project schedules based on approved project requirements and timelines.
• Track deliverables and milestones against the approved schedule.
• Update schedules when priorities or customer requirements change.

Project Execution and Resource Coordination

• Plan, monitor, update, and close project execution.
• Coordinate project activities and resources across Sales, Technical, Purchasing, Stores, Workshop, and other relevant departments.
• Support multiple projects by coordinating priorities and deadlines.
• Perform final inspection before delivery to the customer.

Project Progress, Risk and Issue Management

• Monitor project progress and identify potential delays, risks, or resource constraints.
• Coordinate corrective actions with relevant departments to help keep projects on track.
• Escalate significant risks, delays, and unresolved coordination issues to the General Manager.

Project Information and Deliverable Readiness

• Coordinate the availability of engineering drawings, technical documents, materials, and project information according to the schedule.
• Liaise with engineers, technicians, store personnel, and project stakeholders to resolve information or readiness gaps.
• Maintain accurate planning records and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Project Reporting and Planning Improvement

• Prepare progress reports and project performance summaries for management review.
• Provide updates on project progress, resource requirements, and potential risks to General Manager.
• Participate in project planning meetings and contribute to improvements in planning processes.

Qualification and Experience Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Chemical or a related engineering discipline

Relevant Experience

• Essential - Experience or relevant exposure in project planning, project coordination, project engineering, or project management, preferably in a documentation-intensive environment. Fresh graduates may also be considered, with training provided.
• Preferred - 1–2 years in an engineering or industrial environment; cross-functional engineering project experience.

Language

Working proficiency in English and Bahasa Melayu, both written and spoken.
