About the role
This is an Executive-level position responsible for product design, development and testing on PCBA covering local and overseas customers. The role involves system design, development, and maintenance of firmware or software for air conditioning and home automation controllers, with responsibilities spanning feasibility studies, project management, design reviews, and technical support across manufacturing and assembly phases.
Key responsibilities
- System design, develop, and maintain firmware or software for air conditional and home automation controllers
- Conduct feasibility studies and evaluate design concepts, considering factors such as performance and testability
- Ensure projects are completed on time as determined together including providing regular status update to his/her immediate superior and Manager, R&D
- Management of technicians
- Explores new technical areas as assigned by Manager, R&D including competitor product studies
- Study and review customer requirements, including preliminary feasibility studies, customer enquiries and costing
- Ensure samples submitted to customers are good, complete with appropriate documents
- Perform design reviews to verify the products meets customer requirements and target cost as well as to validate the technical performance of the product and undertake corrective actions
- Employ debugging tools and conduct full coverage testing to identify and resolve issues in firmware code, ensuring high-quality deliverables
- Provide technical support during the manufacturing, assembly, and testing phases, troubleshooting and resolving any firmware-related issues
