Engineer/ Senior Engineer

About the role

This is a 12-month contract position for an Engineer role. You will manage and update Energy Management System (EMS) and Energy Management Shadow System (EMSS) databases and displays, bolstering the situational awareness capabilities of the power system operators. The role involves accurate configuration of generation facilities, transmission network assets of the power and gas systems in the EMS and EMSS databases and displays, ensuring data integrity and facilitating effective system monitoring and control.

• Working Hours: 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM (Monday to Thursday) and 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM (Friday)
• Location : one north

Key responsibilities

• Manage and update Energy Management System (EMS) and Energy Management Shadow System (EMSS) databases and displays to bolster situational awareness capabilities of power system operators
• Configure generation facilities and transmission network assets of the power and gas systems in the EMS and EMSS databases and displays, ensuring data integrity
• Facilitate effective system monitoring and control through accurate configuration and maintenance
• Assist engineers to manage supporting infrastructures and facilities to ensure high system availability for stakeholders
• Manage ancillary equipment such as Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) facilities and Operational Technology (OT) supporting systems to ensure high system availability
• Assist the department to automate internal processes relating to operations and daily BAU work to increase overall work efficiency
• Perform ad-hoc duties as required

About you

• Minimum degree in Engineering background – Electrical & Electronics, Power System, Computer or other related disciplines
• Good understanding of Power System Engineering, Control Centers operations, electricity substation/gas facility environments and devices
• Competency in computer programming, technical hardware architecture, Linux/Unix/Windows Operating System
• Familiar with networking commands and understanding of basic networking protocol and security concepts
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
