ENGINEER (SHEET METAL)

About the role

This role involves organising and prioritising a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner. You will design and produce jigs and fixtures, support new product introduction (NPI), prototype builds, and process validation. You will plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new products, and work closely with the Operations team to develop cost-effective and working production processes.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and prioritize the variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner
• Monitor process performance and recommend continuous improvement initiatives
• Design and production of jigs and fixtures
• Support new product introduction (NPI), prototype builds, and process validation
• Work closely with the Operations team to develop a cost-effective and working production process for the new project
• Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new products
• Create and review technical drawings and specifications, and design jigs and fixtures
• Perform design through SolidWorks and calculate the correct tolerance for each process, such as bending and CNC
• Work closely with production, quality, maintenance, and purchasing departments
• Improve manufacturing efficiency by reducing cycle time, scrap, and rework

About you

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience in the manufacturing engineering field, required
• 2-5 years of experience working in sheet metal fabrication manufacturing environment will be an added advantage
• Good at analysis with exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability
• Must be self-motivated and a great team worker
• Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
