Engineer/Assistant Engineer (Part-time)

Kraftwerk Engineering is an established architectural and engineering consultancy firm in Hong Kong. We are currently expanding our Basic Housing Unit (BHU / 簡樸房) compliance recognition and building inspection division.

We are seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated Part-Time Assistant Engineer to support our engineering team with structural assessments, site inspection documentation, and technical report preparation for BHU compliance projects. This role is ideal for engineering graduates, junior structural engineers, or building professionals looking for flexible hours while gaining hands-on experience in statutory building standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Report Preparation: Assist senior engineers in drafting comprehensive structural assessment reports, safety inspection logs, and remedial recommendation schedules for Basic Housing Unit (BHU) compliance certification.
• Data Processing & Drawing Review: Review architectural and structural layouts, organize site photo logs, and compile diagnostic test results.
• Site Inspection Support: Occasionally accompany licensed engineers to site visits across Hong Kong to conduct visual inspections of building envelopes, structural elements, and partitioned spaces.
• Compliance Coordination: Assist in organizing documentation required for statutory building health and BHU certification workflows.

Requirements

• Education: Higher Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Services, Building Surveying, or a related discipline.

• Experience: 0 to 2 years of relevant experience in structural engineering consultancy, building surveying, or statutory submission support in Hong Kong. Fresh graduates with a strong academic background in structures are welcome.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Good understanding of Hong Kong building practices and structural elements.

• Language Skills: Good command of written English and Chinese (Cantonese), with the ability to draft clear technical reports in English or bilingual formats.

• Attributes: High attention to detail, strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to manage independent tasks under flexible scheduling.
