What they need
Engineering & Procurement Coordinator
Christchurch | New Zealand Hydro Projects
Build the projects that power New Zealand.
At ANDRITZ Hydro, you'll help shape the future of renewable energy by delivering projects at hydro power stations across New Zealand. One day you could be sourcing critical equipment for a turbine upgrade, the next collaborating with engineers and site teams on a major power station refurbishment.
From fast-paced service work to multi-year hydro station rehabilitation projects, no two days are the same.
Based in our Christchurch Head Office, you'll have opportunities to get out from behind the desk and visit project sites throughout New Zealand, seeing your work come to life in the field.
What you'll be doing
You'll sit at the intersection of engineering, procurement, and project delivery, helping transform ideas into real-world outcomes.
Your role will include:
- Supporting engineering activities across a diverse range of hydro projects
- Identifying, sourcing, and coordinating equipment, materials, and specialist suppliers
- Working alongside project managers, site teams, customers, and the global ANDRITZ network
- Solving problems, driving action, and keeping projects moving when others hit roadblocks
- Building strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, value, and timely delivery
- Contributing to projects that help keep New Zealand's renewable energy infrastructure operating for generations to come
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who enjoys getting things done and thrives on variety.
You'll bring:
- An engineering qualification or practical engineering background
- Strong organisational, communication, and IT skills
- The ability to work comfortably across technical, commercial, and operational teams
- A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership
- Curiosity, initiative, and a hands-on approach to problem solving
Hydro industry experience is not essential. If you're eager to learn, enjoy working with good people, and want to be involved in challenging and rewarding projects, we'd love to hear from you.
Why ANDRITZ?
- Work on projects that matter to New Zealand's renewable energy future
- Join a global leader in hydroelectric technology
- Enjoy genuine variety, autonomy, and responsibility
- Be part of a close-knit team with the backing of an international organisation
- See the results of your work firsthand at some of New Zealand's most iconic hydro power stations
If you're looking for a role where engineering meets project delivery, and where your work has a tangible impact on the country's renewable energy infrastructure, apply today.
"Powering New Zealand isn't just a job. It's something you can point to and say: I helped build that."
