Engineering Assistant, Biomedical Engineering

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(A) SPECIFIC

1. Perform routine safety checks and preventive maintenance on medical equipment.
2. Attend corrective maintenance.
3. Commission new medical equipment.
4. Update and maintain proper equipment history records.
5. Liaise with external contactors on replacement of parts, raise request and make recommendations.
6. Manage the performance of external contractors on service matters.
7. Supervise and co-ordinate works performed by external contractors.
8. Update and maintain proper inventory of service parts.
9. Ensure BME work activities & practices conform to standards and audits requirements as stipulated in MOH Licencing and Accreditation (L&A), Joint Commission International (JCl) and International Standards Organisation (ISO).
10. Report I Feedback to Engineer on service issue

(B) GENERAL

1. Participate in hospital tours for visitors and other department staff.
2. Train and mentor students attached to BME department for industrial attachments.
3. Share learning points of the department operations.
4. Embrace continuous improvement as our way of life by improving and refining work performance on a daily basis.
5. Participate in tasks and duties as assigned by senior staff.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

(A) EDUCATION TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

1. Recognised Diploma in Biomedical I Electronics Engineering OR Vocational training certificate in Electronics I Electromechanical I Mechatronics Engineering with practical experience of at least 5 years,
2. Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
3. Service oriented with good communication and supervisory skills.
4. Positive work attitude and ability to work with all levels of staff.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Able to work beyond normal work hours as and when required.
