Engineering Placement Student – Summer 2027

• Location: Huddersfield, West Yorkshire
• Working pattern: Full-time placement, with at least three days per week on-site

An international engineering organisation is seeking an enthusiastic student to join its engineering team for a placement year starting in summer 2027.

You will support the development of new and existing products, gaining practical experience in component design, testing, inspection and failure analysis. You will also contribute to research projects, collaborate with global teams and present findings during technical reviews.

Essential criteria – please read before applying

You must meet ALL the criteria below to be considered. If you do not meet every requirement, you will not be invited to interview.

1. STEM degree: Are you currently working towards a degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics?
2. Placement eligibility: Are you eligible to undertake a placement year as part of your degree?
3. Availability: Can you start in summer 2027 and commit to a full-time placement year?
4. Location and attendance: Can you work on-site in Huddersfield at least three days per week, arranging your own travel or relocation? Relocation support is not provided.
5. Teamwork: Can you work effectively and collaboratively with others?
6. Technical foundations: Do you have a foundational understanding of scientific or engineering principles?
7. Motivation: Do you have a strong desire to learn, develop your technical knowledge and contribute to engineering projects?
8. Microsoft Office: Do you have a good working knowledge of Microsoft tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint ?

Experience contributing to or leading a group project is desirable, but not essential .
