Engineering Assistant Manager

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day work orders, warehouse management and control, quality control, and procurement quotation comparisons for engineering operations
• Coordinate maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting and optimization of core building systems, including air-conditioning, electrical, plumbing and related plant and machinery
• Support the Engineering Department in daily operations and deputize for the Engineering Manager in his or her absence when required
• Make on-the-spot operational decisions to keep plant and machinery running smoothly and carry out the Engineering Manager’s instructions effectively
• Lead and supervise technicians for on-site maintenance works, inspections, fault rectification, and service continuity in various hostels
• Assist the Engineering Manager with procurement, budgeting, expenditure control, management reporting, and administrative workflows.
• Handle administrative duties, mainly in support of the Engineering Manager and assist in maintaining engineering records, documentation, and follow-up actions
• Monitor compliance with safety standards, building regulations, fire services requirements and workplace safety protocols
• Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or above in Building Services, Engineering or related disciplines
• Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in building services maintenance or facilities management
• Familiarity with the Hong Kong Buildings Ordinance, fire service codes, and construction safety regulations
• Experience in hotels, hostels, NGOs, or managing facilities with rural area geographic limitations is a distinct advantage
• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese
• Holder of Registration of Electrical worker in Grade A or above is highly preferred
• Holder of Driving License Class 1&2 would be an advantage
• Candidate with more experience will be considered as Deputy Engineering Manager
• Immediate available is highly preferred
• Priority will be given to Sham Shui Po residents
