Engineering Assistant (non-licensed Engineers)

Job Description Summary: The Engineering Assistant for Materials Quantification supports the Cost Estimate Section by preparing accurate and timely quantity take-offs. This role ensures that all material estimates align with design specifications and project requirements, contributing to the development of reliable cost estimates for CAPEX and other engineering initiatives.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Prepare detailed and accurate quantity take-offs for materials based on engineering drawings and specifications.

2. Assist the Cost Engineer in the review of Bill of Quantities (BOQ)

3. Coordinate with design teams to ensure alignment between design intent and material quantification.

4. Maintain and update a database of material quantities for reference in future projects.

5. Participate in site inspections and field verifications to validate material requirements (if required).

6. Assist in the preparation of Maynilad Reference Estimate (MRE) and Unit Cost Estimate (UCE) related to material quantities.

7. Conducts regular canvassing of material prices, reviews suppliers’ technical specifications and price quotations, and updates the cost estimate database.

8. Assist the Cost Estimate DRC in managing the IMS requirement of the section

9. Perform other related tasks as may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCY

REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM EDUCATION

• Must be a Licensed or Non-Licensed Engineer in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. WORK EXPERIENCE

• 0–3 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, cost estimation, or related fields

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

• Proficient in quantity take-off with strong attention to detail and accuracy in quantification

• Proficient in the following mechanical/civil structural/electrical design fundamentals

• Knowledge in interpreting contract plans and technical documents.

• Good in oral and written communications.

• Proficient with MS Office Programs

• Proficient in CAD software
