Engineering Director, Application Security

For our client, we are seeking a Engineering Director, Application Security to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space.

This role will guide technical delivery across application security engagements, with a strong emphasis on quality, client impact, and team development. The position blends hands-on security expertise with leadership, ensuring engineers are staffed effectively and supported in their growth. You will also help shape how AI tools are incorporated into auditing and research workflows to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $250,000 – $300,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery and manage the quality of engagements
• Make project assignment decisions that balance client needs and team development
• Create opportunities for engineers to present, publish, and contribute to open source
• Set technical direction and invest in team capability development
• Integrate AI into workflows to enhance auditing and research efficiency

Qualifications

• 10+ years in security with a focus on source code audits
• Recent hands-on security experience within the past year
• Experience leading teams of 8+ engineers in a consulting environment
• Proficiency in at least 4 programming languages, including Rust, Go, and Python
• Track record of managing project profitability and staffing
• Experience fostering team development and visibility in the security community
• Familiarity with AI coding and analysis tools
