Engineering Director

Role Description The Engineering Director at DAC YREN dispositif d'appui à la coordination will provide strategic and technical leadership to remote engineering teams in a part-time capacity. This role oversees the planning, design, and delivery of software solutions that support coordination activities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include guiding engineering teams, prioritizing and managing projects, coordinating integrations between systems, and ensuring high-quality software development practices. The Engineering Director will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define technical roadmaps, manage risks, and continuously improve processes and tools. This is a remote role that requires effective communication, documentation, and the ability to work across multiple time zones.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in Engineering Management and Team Leadership, including mentoring, performance management, and building collaborative, high-performing remote teams.
• Hands-on experience in Software Development, with strong understanding of modern architectures, coding practices, and software lifecycle management.
• Proficiency in Project Management, including planning, prioritization, resource allocation, and delivery within agreed timelines and quality standards.
• Practical experience with Integration of systems and platforms, including APIs, data flows, and interoperability best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed technical and organizational decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in remote and cross-functional collaboration contexts.
• Experience in leading distributed or international teams and working in a part-time leadership capacity is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Familiarity with compliance, security, and quality assurance practices relevant to software and systems engineering.
