Engineering Director (CNC Machine / 150-200k)

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Engineering team, overseeing CNC Engineering, Maintenance, and Surface Treatment functions to achieve operational and business objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize CNC machining processes, equipment performance, productivity, quality, and manufacturing costs.
• Ensure production consistently meets quality, delivery, and volume targets while supporting the company's zero-defect, high-volume manufacturing goals.
• Oversee the maintenance and reliability of CNC machines, manufacturing equipment, tooling, and fixtures to maximize operational efficiency.
• Lead engineering projects, process improvements, and new manufacturing initiatives, providing technical guidance to both internal teams and outsourced manufacturing partners.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues, improve manufacturing performance, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Manage engineering resources, budgets, and departmental performance while promoting Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; relevant experience may be considered.
• 10+ years of experience in CNC machining and engineering management, preferably in HDD or precision manufacturing.
• Strong expertise in CNC machining processes, CNC programming, tooling, fixtures, and machine optimization.
• Experience managing maintenance, equipment reliability, and engineering improvement in high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM, GD&T, and metrology.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proven ability to lead and develop large, multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
• Fluent in English; Mandarin communication skills would be an advantage.
