You will support the Chief Engineer / Assistant Chief Engineer in ensuring the smooth operation of all engineering functions, including hotel systems, plant and equipment, team management, sub-contractors, and maintenance of property structure and assets. In addition, this role requires the following minimum qualifications:

• HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing/Gas Fitter trade-qualified advantageous
• Must have sound general Engineering knowledge and trade background
• At least 5 years in a Service Technician position or similar position with working experience in a 5-star hotel.

Here s what you ll do during a typical day:

• Ensure facility safety and compliance: Support the maintenance of the hotel s buildings, mechanical systems, electrical systems, HVAC, and life safety systems, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
• Supervise maintenance operations: Assign and oversee daily maintenance tasks, ensuring thorough documentation of completed work in the property management system.
• Supervise and develop the team: Train, schedule, and supervise maintenance team members, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work and performance
• Oversee contractor work: Supervise external contractors and inspect completed work for quality and compliance
• Respond to service requests: Ensure maintenance requests, guest concerns, and emergency situations are addressed promptly and efficiently
• Supervise and develop the team: Train, schedule, and supervise maintenance team members, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work and performance
• Equipment Maintenance & Efficiency: Repair and maintain all hotel systems and equipment, ensuring efficiency and informing management about deficiencies and stock control needs.
• Cost Management: Adhere to departmental operating expenses, evaluate products for reuse, monitor stock levels, and ensure the operation runs according to budgets and profit margins.
