We have exciting opportunities for intelligent, highly-motivated and proactive individuals to join our engineering team, for a period of 13 months in summer 2027, that will see you contribute to our performance and expose you to how a Formula 1 team works.

Our team is full of incredible people and we know we can learn as much from you as you can from us. Likewise, you want to learn and grow, and you want to share your knowledge with others. After all, that’s what a high performing team is built upon.

Our 13-month Engineering Internship offers you the opportunity to contribute to McLaren Racing’s performance while gaining first-hand experience of how a Formula 1 team operates. The placement will begin in July 2027 and sit within one of four areas:

  • Aerodynamics - including CFD, Wind Tunnel Tech, Aero Design and Aero Operations
  • Design - including Bodywork, Monocoque, Pit Equipment, Suspension, Systems, Transmission and Process Improvement
  • Performance - including Competitor Analysis, Performance Analysis, Simulation Engineering and Vehicle Dynamics

Applications will close on Wednesday 16th September. There will be a second round of assessment sent on the Friday 18th September to be completed by the Monday 21st September.

The intern assessment days will be at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking on Wednesday 14th October, Thursday 15th October and Friday 16th October 2026. If you are selected to attend the assessment day, you will be notified the week prior.

What You'll Bring

  • You will be completing a placement year as part of a degree in Engineering, Mathematics or a scientific discipline and be ready to begin in July 2027.
  • You will be working towards a minimum 2:1 degree classification or equivalent.
  • General computing skills and software knowledge relevant to your chosen placement area.
