Engineering Intern

The Engineering Intern provides support to the Engineering and Maintenance Department in maintaining the hotel's facilities, equipment, and building systems. The intern will gain practical exposure to preventive maintenance, basic troubleshooting, safety procedures, and general engineering operations under the supervision of authorized Engineering personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist the Engineering team in conducting routine inspection and preventive maintenance of hotel facilities, equipment, and building systems.
• Assist in basic troubleshooting and minor repair activities involving electrical, mechanical, plumbing, air-conditioning, and other facility systems, under proper supervision.
• Help monitor the condition of equipment, machinery, utilities, and engineering areas.
• Assist in recording maintenance activities, equipment inspections, repair requests, and other engineering documentation.
• Support the team in responding to maintenance concerns and work orders from different departments.
• Assist in checking lighting fixtures, electrical outlets, plumbing fixtures, air-conditioning units, and other building facilities.
• Observe and follow occupational health and safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper storage of engineering tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Assist during scheduled preventive maintenance, facility inspections, and testing of equipment.
• Report immediately any equipment malfunction, safety hazard, damaged facility, or unusual condition to the Engineering Supervisor.
• Coordinate professionally with employees and other departments when assisting with maintenance activities.
• Perform other engineering-related duties and learning activities assigned by the Engineering Supervisor or Management.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or other related engineering/technical programs.
• Must be completing an internship/OJT requirement from a recognized college, university, or technical institution.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, or building maintenance is an advantage.
• Willing to learn and perform hands-on engineering and maintenance activities.
• Able to follow technical instructions and established safety procedures.
• Responsible, punctual, organized, and able to work effectively with a team.
• Willing to work in a hotel and hospitality environment.
