Engineering Intern - Software Test (Spring 2027 Co-Op)

Our Spring Co-Op program runs from Jan - Aug, 2027. In order to be considered for this role, you must be available to work full time (40 hours per week), onsite, for the entire duration. If you are unable to work during the spring semester, please apply to our Summer Internship Program.

You will be developing innovative test strategies, automating test procedures, and analyzing results to ensure our charging systems exceed expectations. By ensuring our charging systems are robust and reliable, you'll directly impact the quality of Rivian's charging products and contribute to the future of sustainable transportation!

• Develop cutting-edge automated test suites and frameworks to rigorously validate the performance of Rivian's charging systems, pushing the boundaries of efficiency and reliability.

• Design and implement innovative test automation frameworks and scripts, ensuring seamless integration with our CI/CD pipeline for rapid iteration and deployment of software updates.

• Collaborate closely with software development teams to integrate automated tests into the development process, enabling early detection of issues and faster delivery of high-quality charging solutions.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing frameworks to simulate real-world scenarios and stress conditions, ensuring the robustness and safety of Rivian's charging infrastructure.

• Enhance and optimize existing HIL platforms, implementing upgrades and modifications to maximize performance, efficiency, and scalability, pushing the limits of our testing capabilities.

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in at an accredited university.

• Majoring in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Excellent Python programming skills with an emphasis on test automation.

• Knowledge of OOP concepts is a plus.

• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks, such as pytest.

• Ability to analyze software requirements and design comprehensive test cases that validate functionality and performance.

• Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills with a collaborative mindset.
