Engineering Lead – Solution Design

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Lead II to provide technical leadership and drive the design of integrated, end-to-end technology solutions within a complex enterprise environment.

The successful candidate will combine strong solution architecture expertise with engineering leadership, guiding technical practitioners and ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, sustainable and aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and drive end-to-end technical solutions across multiple technologies and systems.
• Analyse complex business and technical problems and recommend fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Present proposed solutions through architecture and technology governance forums.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects and engineering teams to achieve technical alignment.
• Translate solution designs into actionable technical requirements and implementation plans.
• Guide software designers and engineering practitioners on technical design decisions.
• Troubleshoot complex technical delivery issues and manage architectural risks and constraints.
• Promote sustainable architecture, technical standards and continuous improvement.
• Mentor and coach engineering practitioners and contribute to engineering best practices.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in similar technical leadership or architecture roles.
• Strong experience in solution architecture, technical architecture, or end-to-end solution design.
• Solid understanding of IT architecture, systems analysis and systems design.
• Experience leading or guiding engineering practitioners across multiple initiatives.
• Proven ability to engage stakeholders, influence technical decisions and manage architectural trade-offs.

Preferred Qualifications & Certifications

• BSc Computer Science, BCom Information Systems, or a relevant equivalent qualification.
• TOGAF, ITIL or equivalent certification would be advantageous.
