Elevated Knowledge Ltd is a specialist engineering training provider delivering apprenticeships from Level 2 to Level 3 across mechanical, electrical, maintenance, welding, fabrication, machining and lift engineering. Our centre is equipped for fluid power, welding, fitting, machining and electrical training. We are now growing our BTEC and HTQ provision and want a lecturer who can help shape it from the start.

Job Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic, industry-experienced Engineering Lecturers to deliver BTEC and Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ) programmes, both in our training centre and online.

You will teach engineering units on BTEC National (Level 3) and HTQ (Level 4) programmes, such as HNC in Engineering. Delivery will be a blend of face-to-face sessions in our centre workshops and classrooms, and live and recorded online sessions through our virtual learning environment.

You will plan, teach and assess units in areas such as engineering principles, mathematics, mechanical and electrical science, maintenance, manufacturing and project work. You will also support learners to link theory to practice, including those combining study with employment or an apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging BTEC and HTQ engineering sessions in centre and online, using a range of teaching methods and digital tools.
• Write, set and mark assignments in line with Pearson (or relevant awarding body) requirements, including internal verification and standardisation.
• Track learner progress, give timely written and verbal feedback, and support learners at risk of falling behind.
• Prepare and maintain schemes of work, lesson plans, learning resources and online course content.
• Teach practical workshop sessions safely, following health and safety procedures.
• Contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance, external verification visits and Ofsted readiness.
• Embed English, maths, digital skills, safeguarding, Prevent and British values in teaching.
• Work with employers to keep content current and relevant to industry.
• Keep your own industry knowledge and teaching practice up to date through CPD.

Requirements

Essential:

• An engineering qualification at Level 5 or above (HND, foundation degree or degree), or Level 4 with substantial relevant experience.
• Significant industry experience in mechanical, electrical, manufacturing or maintenance engineering.
• A teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, DET/DTLLS) or willingness to work towards one.
• Confidence teaching engineering science and mathematics to Level 3 and above.
• Good IT skills and confidence delivering online through platforms such as Microsoft Teams and a VLE.
• A strong commitment to safeguarding and to learner success.

Desirable:

• Experience teaching BTEC National and/or HNC/HND engineering units.
• Assessor (TAQA/A1) or internal quality assurance (IQA/V1) qualification.
• Experience with apprenticeships or work-based learners.
• Professional registration (EngTech, IEng or CEng) or working towards it.
• Experience designing blended or online learning content.

Pay: £35,000.00-£38,850.00 per year
