Build the frontier of AI on Windows. Our organization builds frontier AI experiences, including agentic actions that get real work done on your behalf and autopilot experiences that keep working in the background so you don't have to. We move fast. We take new ideas from prototype to customers quickly and learn from real usage as we go. Everything we build serves one goal: making Windows an AI-first operating system. That includes computer-use agents (CUA) that can work across any app the way a person would, and hybrid compute that uses both the device and the cloud to make experiences fast, capable and private. As a manager here, you'd lead a team that ships what's next for a platform used by more than a billion people, and help shape how everyone uses a PC in the AI era.

AI Experiences employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft Hub in the U.S. are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a team of fullstack engineers, including driving project planning, prioritization of work, and designing features.
• Guides teams and leads identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.
• Make hands-on contributions to the codebase and infrastructure.
• Guide architecture and design efforts by leading discussions, creating proposals and design documents, and ensuring solutions meet business, security, and compliance requirements.
• Ship AI powered experiences that will shape how millions of people will interact with AI in the future.
• Drive implementation of features and systems, breaking down long-term goals into clear milestones, aligning with release plans, and ensuring cross-team coordination.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 15+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
• 8+ years people management experience.

Software Engineering M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $165,600 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.
