Engineering Manager (AI / ML Production)

Requirements:

• Solid engineering foundations: Ideally 3+ years working as an engineer, with relevant experience in a technology company.
• External customer-delivery ownership: Personal accountability for managing expectations, scope, priorities, risks, commitments, and outcomes. Participating in technical discovery, architecture discussions or demos is not equivalent to owning customer delivery.
• Formal technical people management: Around 2+ years directly managing software engineers, data engineers/scientists, or AI professionals—not simply coordinating project teams.
• Performance and career-development responsibility: Ownership of feedback, 1:1s, performance reviews, development plans, and underperformance management.
• Production-AI technical judgement: Enough depth to understand deployed AI systems, assess trade-offs and work effectively alongside a separate Tech Lead. The candidate does not need to act as the primary architect or hands-on technical lead.
• The role centers on managing a small team of engineers, customer relationships, and project delivery, with limited coding.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or related fields, with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience with deep learning model compression techniques and inference optimization engines (TensorRT, vLLM, etc.).
• Experience in the evaluation of Generative AI systems on real live data.
