Job Summary

We are looking for an Engineering Manager, Backend who combines strong backend engineering expertise with proven people leadership.

This is a hands-on leadership role involving architecture, software development, technical decision-making, mentoring, and team management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop backend engineering teams.
• Manage performance, career development, coaching, and succession planning.
• Participate in hands-on software development.
• Design scalable and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Lead architecture and technical planning.
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance.
• Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Drive CI/CD, DevOps, monitoring, and production excellence.
• Define engineering KPIs and delivery metrics.
• Hire and develop engineering talent.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience managing teams with 5+ direct reports.
• Strong hands-on backend development experience.
• Expert-level Java, Scala, or C#.
• Distributed systems and high-availability architecture.
• Production systems experience at scale.
• Strong software architecture fundamentals.
• Agile development experience.
• Strong people leadership and mentoring skills.
