Engineering Manager, Cloud Engineering

For our client, we are seeking a Engineering Manager, Cloud Engineering to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space.

This leader will oversee a senior cloud infrastructure team responsible for operational health, reliability, and the successful execution of major platform transitions. The role will partner closely with product engineering and adjacent technical teams to define ownership boundaries, improve safe infrastructure usage, and keep critical systems running smoothly. It is well suited for a hands-on manager who can balance technical depth, people leadership, and organizational change in a fast-moving enterprise technology environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $163,000 – $224,070 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a senior Cloud Engineering team with clear performance expectations and support.
• Manage operational health, including incident response and service-level objectives for cloud infrastructure.
• Initiate and oversee a complex infrastructure insourcing program, ensuring successful transitions.
• Guide technical priorities and tradeoffs across infrastructure components such as AWS and Kubernetes.
• Develop automation and best practices to empower product engineering teams with safe infrastructure usage.
• Facilitate migrations while defining ownership boundaries with partner teams.
• Cultivate team cohesion and inclusivity throughout organizational changes.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of managing infrastructure or site reliability engineering teams, including on-call management.
• Proven ownership of incident response and health for critical production systems.
• Experience leading a multi-quarter infrastructure migration or insourcing project.
• Technical expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code practices for informed technical discussions.
• Ability to maintain engagement and performance during team transitions.
• Insightful perspective on AI-assisted engineering norms.
• Strong communication skills for diverse audiences.
