Engineering Manager

As an Engineering Manager at Ondato, you will lead three of our six engineering teams responsible for building secure, scalable, and reliable products that help businesses automate KYC, AML, and identity verification processes.

You will combine people leadership with technical execution, enabling engineers to deliver high-quality software while fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You'll work closely with Product, Design, QA, Security, and other engineering teams to translate business goals into successful product outcomes.

What You’ll Do

• Lead, coach, and grow a team of software engineers through regular 1:1s, feedback, mentoring, and career development.
• Build a high-performing engineering culture focused on quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Product Managers to define roadmaps, prioritize work, and deliver customer value.
• Drive predictable delivery by managing team planning, sprint execution, and technical risks.
• Identify and remove blockers that affect the team’s efficiency.
• Ensure the quality, scalability, security, and reliability of delivered solutions.
• Improve engineering processes, development velocity, and operational excellence.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and the professional development of engineers.
• Monitor team health, workload, and delivery metrics.

What We Are Looking For

• 7+ years in software engineering, including 4+ years leading engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of modern development practices.
• Ability to balance people leadership, technical considerations, and business priorities.
• Strong planning, prioritization, and delivery management skills.
• Ability to provide clear feedback, support engineers’ growth, and handle difficult conversations when needed.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Good English skills.
