Engineering Manager

About the Role

We are looking for an Engineering Manager who combines strong technical depth with hands-on people leadership. You will sit at the intersection of architecture and delivery: designing and evolving our technical systems, guiding the day-to-day work of the development team, and acting as the go-to person for solving hard technical problems. This is a role for someone who wants to keep building and designing systems while also growing and managing a team.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Architecture

• Own the technical architecture and roadmap for the team's systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.

• Evaluate and select technologies, frameworks, and design patterns appropriate to business needs and long-term system health.

• Lead architecture reviews and design discussions, and document key technical decisions (e.g. via ADRs / design docs).

• Balance technical debt against delivery speed, and plan refactoring or platform improvements proactively.

Team Management

• Manage the daily work of the development team: sprint planning, task allocation, code review standards, and delivery tracking.
• Run stand-ups, planning, and retrospectives; remove blockers so engineers can stay focused and productive.
• Hire, coach, and mentor engineers; conduct performance reviews and support individual career growth.
• Foster a healthy engineering culture: high code quality, knowledge sharing, and psychological safety.

Technical Problem-Solving & Delivery

• Act as a hands-on technical escalation point — help the team debug complex issues and unblock difficult implementation problems.
• Translate business and product requirements into practical, well-scoped technical solutions.
• Partner with Product, QA, and other engineering teams to plan releases and ensure smooth cross-team delivery.
• Monitor system health and lead incident response / post-mortems when production issues arise.

Requirements

• 5 to 8 years in software engineering, including experience designing system architecture for production applications.
• 5 years directly managing or leading a development team (people management, not just tech lead).
• Strong hands-on background in microservices, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure), APIs, databases.
• Hands-on experiences on TypeScript, NodeJS, Java, Python, PHP, MongoDB, MySQL etc.
• Proven ability to make and defend architectural trade-offs (scalability, cost, security, performance).
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle, CI/CD, and agile delivery practices.
• Less experience will be considering an Assistant Manager
• Immediate available is preferred
