Engineering Manager

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Leading and managing engineering teams to achieve project objectives, timelines, and quality standards
• Planning, coordinating, and overseeing engineering projects from conception through completion
• Developing and implementing engineering strategies that support business growth and operational excellence
• Supervising the design, development, and testing of engineering solutions and processes
• Managing budgets, resources, and allocation of engineering personnel to optimise productivity
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance protocols
• Mentoring, coaching, and developing engineering staff to enhance their technical and professional capabilities
• Liaising with cross-functional departments to integrate engineering solutions with broader business objectives
• Identifying opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and technological advancement
• Monitoring key performance indicators and reporting on engineering team performance and project status

JOB QUALIFICATION

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline; advanced qualifications such as an MBA or specialized engineering certification are advantageous
• Minimum of 8 years' experience in an engineering environment, with at least 5 years in a management or supervisory role
• Proven track record of successfully leading engineering teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget
• Strong technical knowledge and expertise relevant to engineering operations and industry best practices
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to priorities multiple initiatives simultaneously
• Demonstrated expertise in process improvement, optimization, and problem-solving methodologies
• Outstanding leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate and develop team members
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all organisational levels
• Knowledge of quality assurance frameworks, health and safety regulations, and industry compliance requirements
• Proficiency in engineering management software and tools; experience with relevant computer-aided design (CAD) or engineering software is preferred
• Strategic thinking ability with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation
