About the role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. This is a full-time position that plays a strategic role in overseeing engineering operations and leading technical teams to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget. As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing engineering projects, supervising technical staff, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. This role is pivotal to achieving our organisational objectives and driving continuous improvement across our engineering services.

Key responsibilities

• Leading, managing and supervising engineering teams to ensure effective project delivery and team performance
• Planning, coordinating and overseeing engineering projects from conception through completion, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budgets
• Developing and implementing engineering strategies, processes and procedures to optimise operational efficiency
• Monitoring project progress and identifying risks, implementing corrective actions as necessary
• Ensuring all projects comply with relevant industry regulations, safety standards and quality requirements
• Providing technical guidance and mentoring to engineering staff, supporting their professional development and growth
• Liaising with clients, stakeholders and internal departments to manage expectations and deliver solutions that meet requirements
• Preparing technical reports, documentation and project proposals as required
• Managing engineering budgets and controlling project costs to ensure profitability
• Conducting performance reviews and identifying training needs for team members

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline; relevant professional certifications are advantageous
• Minimum 8 years of professional engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role
• Proven track record of successfully managing engineering teams and delivering complex projects
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, practices and industry standards relevant to the sector
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficiency in project management tools and engineering software applications
• Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate, develop and inspire team members
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of stakeholders
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements
• Sound understanding of health, safety and environmental (HSE) requirements and best practices
• Budget management experience and financial acumen
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal; additional language skills are desirable
