What they need

Lead one of Irelands fastest-growing public transport engineering operations.

Go-Ahead Ireland are now seeking an Engineering Manager to lead engineering operations at our newly opened Northwest Business Park Depot. This depot is home to our North Dublin operation, with a current fleet of more than 90 buses, engineering vans and electric company vehicles, with further growth planned for the future.

As public transport continues to evolve, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to the future development of fleet technology and depot infrastructure. While today's operation is supported by a modern diesel bus fleet and electric company vehicles, the continued transition towards zero-emission public transport will create exciting opportunities for engineering leaders to help prepare for the next generation of fleet operations.

This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a key engineering operation within one of Ireland's leading public transport providers. You'll be responsible for leading a fully established team of skilled Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Engineering Supervisors and Apprentices, providing leadership, direction and support while driving high standards of safety, compliance and fleet performance.

Why Join Go-Ahead Ireland?

This role offers the chance to:

· Lead a large-scale public transport engineering operation

· Manage a modern and growing fleet serving communities across Dublin

· Take ownership of depot engineering performance, safety and compliance

· Develop and mentor an established team of engineers and apprentices

· Work closely with senior leadership and influence strategic decisions

· Play a key role in supporting future fleet and depot growth

· Join a company with ambitious expansion plans and long-term career opportunities

The Role

As Engineering Manager, you will lead the day-to-day delivery of planned and reactive maintenance activities at our Northwest Business Park depot, ensuring the safe, compliant and efficient operation of engineering services.

Reporting to the Engineering Director, you will lead a team of Engineering Supervisors, Heavy Vehicle Mechanics and Apprentices, overseeing workshop operations, fleet maintenance, engineering performance, contractor management, budgets and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will work closely with Operations, Stock Controllers, Fleet Planners and Administrative Support teams across Northwest Business Park and our Head Office in Ballymount, helping to ensure vehicles remain safe, reliable and available for service.

This is a leadership role that combines people management, operational oversight and strategic planning, providing the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the ongoing success and development of our North Dublin operation.

We're Looking for Someone Who:

· Has experience managing heavy commercial vehicle workshops or fleet maintenance operations

· Is a confident people leader who can develop, motivate and support engineering teams

· Has excellent technical knowledge and engineering judgement

· Thrives in a fast-paced operational environment

· Is passionate about safety, compliance and continuous improvement

· Can balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational leadership

· Wants to play a leading role in the growth of one of Dublin's largest public transport operators
